My Student Profile, UMN Graduate Program in Neuroscience

About Me:

Hometown: Phoenix, AZ

Research Interests: I am a fourth year PhD candidate in the Graduate Program in Neuroscience, co-sponsored by Dr. Karen Mesce (Entomology/Neuroscience) and Dr. Emad Ebbini (Electrical Engineering). My dissertation research involves exploring the cellular mechanisms of ultrasound neuromodulation– a promising, noninvasive technology that could prove to be therapeutic for a range of neurological disorders, including epilepsy and chronic pain. I am particularly interested in ultrasound's mechanical and thermal effects on the gating kinetics of ion channels.
